Do you have any headcanons for vexshipping?
YEAH!! I DO!
bakura remains an antisocial little freak but anzu talks about him WAY TOO MUCH to her friends and the random coworker so no one is like, really put off by him anymore which KILLS him inside. he's not scaring anyone when everyone knows he had to be told to take out the trash 4 times last week.
i think anzu fell for him first but she denied it for a long time. however bakura was the first to confess by COMPLETE accident and he was, of course, horrified
small spoon bakura forever but i like to think they switch it around bc anzu likes to feel pampered too okay
anzu is able to express more of her... vindictive side around bakura which he finds extremely hot LOL
and vice versa anzu is just naturally able to pull out a nicer side out of bakura which he only really shows to her
i see their romance as a SLOW burn but like, so so intriguing and captivating to see unfold

"an earnest unrequited love, wanting to make it bear a little happiness" reference
i have posted about my au a couple of times, it's not specific to arc v though it involves yuya and yuri so i shall take this chance to ramble
to introduce. an excerpt of a ramble about my au: "i have my focus sort of split between yuri and yuya's yanhomo weirdness pov v.s. bakura trying to not kill punch beat the shit out of worship marry johan while anzu takes an irritated drag from her cigarette pov" so it's a whole Every Yugioh Crossover and a part of the premise is everyone is at least mildly to severely out of character johan and mokuba are quite different for instance. there aren't relevant arc v characters aside from the aforementioned two but i can mention some. also little extra designs
yugo is yuya's older half brother on yoko's side (likes motorcycles per her influence), they don’t visit each other often but they do talk regularly, yugo tries supporting yuya and being a proper big brother as much as he can. yuto is yuri's estranged older brother but yuri has no memory of him because he was too young when they were separated and yuri was adopted by leo (yes reiji and reira are his siblings. the akabas continue to be the most dysfunctional family ever) yuzu and gongenzaka are yuya's best friends per usual. yuri ran away with yuya for their survival since it's no good to stay in the same spot with a billionaire ceo guy (seto kaiba) tracking them and a jail escapee (kyosuke kiryu) but also just because he wants to have yuya alone
(yuzu and gongenzaka look about the same so just the yu’s and yo)
i frame my au yuri with a lot of yandere shit just because i think it's fun and he does stalk yuya + sometimes treats him like something of a boyfriend but he isn't really in love with yuya? yuri loves and admires himself above all but he sees himself in yuya. literally physically because he thinks they have similar faces and yuri has always unconsciously wanted something of a normal life and family so seeing yuya have that meant projecting on yuya became his favorite hobby. and now because of their situation they're in he uses this new forced closeness with someone for the first time to act out everything he's never experienced (a friend, a parent, a lover)
despite how much yuya might be creeped out or uncomfortable, since yuri has been the real reason he's been able to survive, he feels like he doesn't really have the right to reject yuri in any sense, by all means he's dependent on him in this situation and he can't just leave and go to anyone else unless he wants to put them in danger. also helps that he's scared shitless of him both because yuri is armed, merciless, and he would hurt yuya himself if he wanted to as he only needs yuya alive beyond that yuri doesn't really care how he is physically or mentally. the arrangement is a bit of a nightmare though coming to understand the way he thinks and acts, yuya genuinely pities yuri for the way that he is so he wants to help him be more normal and genuinely befriend him in return for everything he's done to protect him and starts to treats this as something of an obligation but yuri makes it hard to do anything nice for him
(since yuri is a solider baby and views socialization through a power hierarchy he sees these attempts of being kind and friendly as yuya acting above yuri, which he obviously doesn't take very well since he refuses to be below anyone except for leo, his dad. the only reason yuri acts the familiar way he does with yuya is because he sees them on equal footing since in his perspective yuya is essentially an extension him but he still by default treats yuya as someone below him, so yuya can't reciprocate acts of familiarity without yuri being the one to initiate them)
also the au is a future diary au. forgot to mention. yuya and yuri are two of twelve people trying to kill each other and have diaries that tell the future. it follows nothing about future diary outside of that basic premise, yuya and yuri are not the main characters.
clothes concept + notes + etc because you know. i might as well while i’m at it i doubt i’m sharing these any other time
this is test thing of a noncanon scene i had in my head there's the rest of it in script because i could not be damned

So, to feed @bakawitch need of casteshipping, here my bird-cursed!Atem Ancient Egypt AU:
Context: Atem is cursed since a very young age. Someone tried to kill him as a kid with magic *cough*Akhenaden*cough cough* but it didn’t work completely. Now Every night Atem turns into a falcon and to turns back human he has to be in contact with the sun's very first lights. If he miss them, he is stuck as a bird until next morning. Only a very few selected people know about this (not all the priests know).
Then story line stays the same until the 'Bakura goes into the throne room with daddy's corpse on a leash and get his ass kicked by Atem" part.
Bakura flee, but Atem is very worried about the menace he represents. So he decides to use his curse to search for Bakura. Bird-boy escapes the Palace as soon as the night is here, but... Atem didn't take into account that he never left the city before and his dumb ass ends up lost in the middle of the desert. Not to mention he never flew that long before so he gets quickly tired.
Atem goes on the ground to rest but gets attacked by wild animals and his wing gets injured. He is rescued by Bakura who makes the animals flee. Atem doesn't have the time to react because he lost a lot of blood and pass out.
He wakes up the next day as a bird as he missed morning's first lights. His wing has been cares for, he has water and food around him, is on a very comfortable pillow. Then bird-boy realises with horror that his savior is Bakura. Usually the thief lets animals do their things but he somehow felt pity for the bird this time. At first Atem is very aggressive but he can’t do much with his injured wing. Bakura doesn't think much about it as he expected a wild animal to be aggressive.
Atem has no choice but to deal with it until he can escape. The two of them spend a few days together (and Atem manage to avoid morning sun's light because he is sure Bakura is going to kill him otherwise). Turns out Bakura takes very good care of him and Atem is so confused. Like is this really the same guy who attacked him before???? Bakura even rescues him again when people tries to capture Atem to sell him. (And damn it why does it have to fell so nice when he pets Atem's feathers???) Atem also learns more about Bakura's past because Bakura loves to talk even if it's just a bird listening.
When Atem's wing is fully healed he knows he has to go. It's been days and everyone at the Palace must be panicked by his absence. So he leaves the night Bakura gets his bandage off.
Bakura suddenly feels very lonely, but that was to be expected from a wild bird. Atem returns to the Palace and gets everything back in order.
Things happens and Bakura goes to the Palace to fight Atem again. But this time Atem just can't attack him like before because he knows Bakura is not a villain but someone who has been hurt.
He doesn't have any choice but to fight because Bakura is serious about killing him. However the night will arrive soon and Atem is too focused on the fight to notice. He changes into a bird in front of a very confused Bakura. Akhenaden uses that confusion to attack Bakura, but Atem flies in front of him to stop him. Akhenaden doesn't care and it's Atem who gets hurt. The priest does some evil speech how he can kill the thief and the Pharaoh (one stone for two birds you know) and put everything on Bakura. Bakura is still very confused but gets Atem and runs away.
So the thief is back in the desert with his bird, now very much aware of its identity. And very confused. And angry. (And omg I scratched his head and called him cute names.) They talk about it once Atem can change back and conclude that Akhenaden is behind everything and have to work together to get him down (and Atem has to deal with the 'Oh fuck I'm in love with Bakura'. It comes a bit later for Bakura.)
... Damn. This got way longer than I intended it 😂

I finished rewatching season 1 of Yu-Gi-Oh. My redemption arc is 1/5 complete. (I have to watch the dub because I don't wanna support Crunchyroll and I don't know where else to watch the sub)
My main thoughts are about voice acting since of all the arcs, Duelist Kingdom and Domino City side stories make me the least angry.
So to start off, a comparison between Dub and Sub acting and which voice I like more as of now.
Yami: His sub voice in season 1 is honestly so cute. He just sounds like he's having a constant blast.
His dub voice on the other hand, sounds so hot 🥵. And Dub Yami is what's keeping me from doing drugs.
Overall, I like both a lot. I do however think Dan just makes the character.
Little Yugi: similar thing as Yami, only his dub voice doesn't sound hot. Just cute. I love both voices and honestly can't pick between them.
Joey Wheeler: I like his dub voice more. That's where the personality is. His sub voice just sounds generic.
Tristan: For the first few episodes of the dub, Tristan has this really stupid voice that I just don't like, so for that alone I like his sub voice more.
But then from the Rex duel and onward it's Greg Abby, and then I like both his sub and dub voice.
Téa: I think I prefer her sub voice. Just a little less grating. (I still love you Téa)
Ryou: He sounds like Gachapoid in the sub 🥺. I love Gachapoid!
His british accent tho 😩
Yami Bakura: Gachapoid doesn't suit him unfortunately. I like his dub voice more.
Pegasus: stunning. Both of them. The performance is impeccable. But Dub Pegasus never said "Jesus Christ".
Seto Kaiba: a hard one. In the sub he screams so much, but in the dub he doesn't sound like he's one insult away from killing himself... I can't decide.
Mokuba: they both sound the same.
Mai: I think I prefer dub. Just sounds deeper idk.
Weevil: I love him and his voices.
Rex: I prefer his sub voice. Just less grating and he doesn't sound like he has bronchitis.
Everyone else: meh. Could go either way.
Now to talk about the characters, and if I relearned anything:
Téa's friendship speeches are so sweet and cheesey I can't believe people don't like them. She is always there for her friends and clearly cares so much. I will never forgive Téa bashers for what they did to her during the great Yaoi Revolution.
Joey isn't as stupid as I remember him being, just a beginner at Duel Monsters. Nothing wrong with that. He's trying. His utter determination to get that money for his sister's operation is seriously so heart warming. I love whenever he says "Time roulette go!"
Tristan threw a dead body at Satan. And grabbed Ryou's leg while climbing the tower because he was getting impatient.
Yugi being uncertain of Yami until the Bakura duel is crazy. Like he wasn't even having memory issues. Bro huh? He's also so supportive! Like baby boy was the one to suggest he and Yami fight PaniK for Mai. He told Yami not to attack Kaiba and send him falling to his death. He gave Joey Time Wizard! Yugi is a bro.
Yami is such a good friend. Helping Joey out with duels, got Mai her star chips back, freed both Mokuba and Kaiba's souls because Mokuba asked, tried getting pink shirt his star chips back, and never believing that Joey couldn't duel by himself.
Ryou was, certainly there. Honestly his impact doesn't really matter. He just explains Duel Monsters to Tristan and Téa whenever Yugi is dueling. His first appearance isn't even that impressive because instead of killing himself to save everyone like in the manga, Yami switches the places of Ryou and Yami Bakura. So even if he tries to help, someone else always helps way more.
Yami Bakura is so hot. I'd suck his dick if he asked. I also just love how his deck can not only do tarot readings, but is also really annoying to go up against. Like boy had 3 morphing jars, an electric lizard, a man eater bug, and change of heart. Those cards were fucking devastating back in the day. He also would have won that duel if he used Just Desserts one turn later, but oh well. Why did he lick the millennium eye tho? I get the tarot reading, but why did he lick the eye?
Mokuba. Oh sweet Mokuba. He just wants to help his brother, but he suffers so much.
Kaiba is awesome. He hacks into Industrial Illusions and causes a satellite to crash into an office. Killing people. He helps Yami win a duel. He rips a Blue Eyes. He annihilates with Crush Card Virus. My man uses Saggi the Dark Clown. His devotion to rescuing Mokuba is amazing and is really what has me start caring for him when I first watched the series 5 years ago. His comebacks and sheer distaste for the Yugi gang are fun and amazing to watch.
Pegasus, the star of season 1. He's in my top 5 favorite characters list. I absolutely love eccentric villains, especially when they love cartoons and are actually threatening. Pegasus is a beast. If we ignore his millennium eye for now, he's a fantastic and fun duelist! His deck is interesting and entertaining to watch, neither of his duels were boring, and the man is so funny. "Do I spin it like a top, or roll it like a ball!" I love him. He's also (so far) the only villain I feel genuine empathy towards. Y'all, I'm a sap. If a villain's reason is being evil because they lost their Significant other than I'm sorry I'm crying. My poor guy.
Grandpa: he trained Joey and Yugi, he gave Yugi his deck, he appeared in dream sequences to help Yugi beat his opponents, and he gave Yugi the puzzle. If this man didn't exist, Yu-Gi-Oh wouldn't happen.
Duke Devlin: I forgot how much I hated him when I first watched his dumbass Dungeon Dice Monster 4 episode showdown. He's so fucking mean.
Rebecca: not much to say other than I like her.
The duels:
Seto vs Yami (first duel of the series): a fantastic way to start off the series. Kaiba finds out Yugi's grandpa has the Blue Eyes White Dragon card he's been searching for, he steals it, rips it, and Yugi challenges him to a duel.
Yami takes control and is surprised by Kaiba's duel arena having the ability to make life-like holograms of the monsters on the cards.
The duel begins and for the entire thing, it's honestly pretty equal. Yami summons a monster, Kaiba destroys it. Kaiba summons a monster, Yami destroys it.
It's a back and forth kind of deal until Kaiba pulls out his own Blue Eyes White Dragon card, shocking Yami. He surprises Yami again by summoning another Blue Eyes, but then gets hit with swords of revealing light.
Kaiba summons Judge Man, and it gets Destroyed by the Dark Magician.
During this, Yugi is having his doubts about winning because of Kaiba's Blue Eyes and can't seem to draw cards. Especially when Kaiba summons his third Blue Eyes White Dragon and destroys the Dark Magician.
This leads into Yami and Yugi having an inter monologue with Grandpa about Exodia. How Exodia is split into pieces. Pieces like a puzzle.
Yami gains the courage to draw and he gets all five pieces of Exodia! Instantly winning the duel!
Kaiba is then given a mind crush and starts to question all his life choices.
Rex vs Weevil (half a duel): in this not really a duel, we are introduced to two characters. Since they have names they are obviously important to the plot.
The duel starts with Rex summoning King Rex and instantly getting vortexed. Then Weevil summons his Basic Insect and equips it with Insect Lazer Cannon. This lets him wipe out all of Rex's Life Points.
Weevil is then named Regional Champion, and Rex is the runner up.
Yugi vs Pegasus (second real duel): this is where we are introduced to Pegasus as a villain.
He makes Yugi duel him on a 15 min time lock.
During this duel, Pegasus is cheating. Not just with his millennium eye, but he's sending subliminal messages to Yami. It's not mentioned in the dub, but it still happens.
Yami finds out that duel monsters was created in ancient Egypt and Pegasus starts talking up a storm so he can waste time.
Pegasus wins the duel due to the time limit and steals Grandpa's soul.
Weevil vs Yami (the third duel): This duel was initiated because Weevil decided to be a little dick and threw Exodia off the ship to Duelist Kingdom.
Yami bets his deck and star chip, Weevil bets both his star chips.
The duel begins, and we find out about field power bonuses. Insects get lower from the forest, warriors get theirs from the meadow, dragons and winged beasts get theirs from the mountains, zombies get them from the wastelands, and fiends get theirs during night time.
Unfortunately, Yami doesn't get many bonuses.
During the duel, Weevil summons a full board of monsters. He gets mirror forced.
Then he plays his Petite Moth and Cocoon of Evolution combo. He gets Burning Landed.
He then summons his Great Moth. He gets Makiyued and Summoned Skulled.
This is a simple explanation of what happened, but Yami wasn't met without struggle.
A lot of his monsters that he summoned got destroyed. They usually only lasted one turn.
Anyways, Yami won and has three star chips. Joey steals Weevil's dueling glove.
Joey vs Mai (Duel 4): this is Joey's first duel! Hooray!
He doesn't understand that his land monsters can't attack flying monsters, and gets demolished.
Mai adds several equip spells and uses Elegant Egotist to multiply her Harpie lady card.
Joey finds out Mai is cheating with perfume.
Joey then summons Baby Dragon and the Time Wizard and uses them to win the duel.
He got a star chip and his first rival!
Mako vs Yami (duel 5): Yami duels Mako Tsunami.
Mako's monsters are in the water and can't be attacked.
Yami attacks the moon and then uses his Burning Land card.
Yami wins
Mokuba vs Yami (half duel): Mokuba is trying to keep Yami from dueling Pegasus because he wants to save his brother's company.
He loses the duel.
Yami vs Ghost Kaiba (duel 6): Kaiba jumped off a cliff and died. Now his ghost is dueling Yami.
He's psychology tormenting everyone except Tristan. Mokuba quickly became distraught.
Ghost Kaiba summons his Blue Eyes one at a time, and they all get destroyed.
The first one is destroyed by the real Kaiba because OH MY! He ain't dead! That's just some fat ass pretending to be Kaiba! (Or he's Kaiba's dark half)
The second Blue Eyes gets destroyed because Yami summoned Mystical Elf and Raised the Attack points of the Blue eyes he stole from the graveyard.
Yami wins the duel!
Mokuba got rekidnapped tho.
Joey vs Rex (duel 7): Rex is dueling Joey because he wants to duel Mai, but Mai will only duel him if he beats Joey.
Joey again gets his ass beat and is saved by Time Wizard.
His spoils are some chips and the Red Eyes Black Dragon!!!!
Yami Bakura vs Yami (duel 8): in this duel we are introduced to two new characters. Ryou Bakura and Yami Bakura.
Before the duel, the gang and Ryou are talking about their favorite cards (important). Then Ryou challenges Yugi to a duel, Yami Bakura appears, takes them to the Shadow Realm, puts the squads souls in their favorite cards, then tries to steal the puzzle.
Yami challenges Yami Bakura to a duel and when he summons the Cyber Commander, he finds out that all of his have had their souls placed inside their favorite cards.
Tristan dies to the white magical hat or some shit and Joey Flame Swordsman gets summoned. Then Tristan Cyber Commander gets resurrected, then Yugi Dark Magician gets summoned, then Téa Magician of Faith gets places face down. (She's a flip monster)
Throughout this whole ass duel Yami and the gang are getting their ass handed to them.
Yami gets Morphing Jared like 3 times, had Man Eater Bug eat Joey, had Just Desserts taking life points from him, and Yami Bakura was looking at him like
(𓁹‿ 𓁹)
The whole time.
Anyway, Yami Bakura plays the Change of Heart card and we get to see Ryou in a dress.
We get to see Ryou in another dress because he betrays Yami Bakura and takes control of his Lady of Faith and tells Yugi to attack him.
Yami then thinks about how Yami Bakura took the souls of his friends out of their bodies and put them in the cards and then wonders if he can do the same. He can he does.
We then see Yami Bakura in a dress but he doesn't slay as hard as Ryou.
Yami Bakura is defeated but he took a page out of William Afton's book because he comes back instantly.
Yami vs PaniK (duel 9): This duel starts immediately after Mai gets defeated by PaniK.
Yugi calls this fucking giant of a man a bully, PaniK tries to kill him with fire, and the duel starts.
PaniK is hiding in the dark and Yami calls him a pussy multiple times.
PaniK sure is a duelist. He loses his temper easily and doesn't think about the opponent's strategy. This Leads his Reaper of The Cards to get caught in a Magic Circle (I can't remember the name) and destroyed by his monster.
PaniK gets Swords of Revealing Lighted and his Castle of Dark Illusions has its floatation ring knocked off. His monsters get destroyed and he loses.
Mai got her star chips back :D
Joey vs Kaiba (duel 10? Does this one even count?): the entire duel is Joey getting annihilated. He loses. Badly.
And Kaiba gets insulted.
Joey vs Bonz (duel 11): This duel happened because Joey got kidnapped.
We also get introduced to Bonz, Sid, Zygor, and Bandit Keith.
Bandit Keith used to be the intercontinental champion, and he hates Pegasus.
Bonz is just a little guy who doesn't really like Bandit Keith, but he wants to duel with his zombie cards. Keith is helping him out. So they just gotta work together.
Sid and Zygor are Bonz's friends. They're just kinda there.
During this duel, they are in a cave and Joey is getting scared because Bonz is ugly (no he's not 😤) and zombies are spooky.
Joey is managing pretty alright for the first half because Keith keeps making Bonz play not zombies and they keep getting destroyed.
However, Keith wanted this. Because he put a Call of the Haunted in Bonz's deck. This means that Bonz can bring his monsters back from the graveyard as zombies, they're indestructible, get stronger each time they come back, and they keep destroying Joey's monsters.
Bonz then summons his Pumpking and makes his zombies stronger, but it gets destroyed by the Red Eyes Black Dragon.
Then Red Eyes gets destroyed by ways I don't remember.
Now all Joey has left is his Battle Warrior and Sword and Shield.
He summons Battle Warrior , uses Sword and Shield, wins the duel!
The Yugi gang are now trapped in a cave and Bonz and his friends get their shit rocked by Bandit Keith.
Joey and Yami vs the Paradox brothers (duel 12): Ryou leads the gang here.
We meet the Paradox brothers. A pair of eccentric twins who can't shut up and keep rhyming.
The duel is a tag duel. Meaning they take turns, if one opponent loses all of their life points that team loses, and they can help each other out.
The duel is in a maze. Each card can move up a space for as many levels as it is.
Beaver Warrior gets destroyed instantly by the Wall Shadow, which gets destroyed by KUNAI WITH CHAIN.
Some other shit happen, Yami and Joey gotta face some tank and a worm and spider.
Don't know what happened to the tank, the spider got stabbed with Mystic Box, and the worm had something something Magical Hats.
Gate Guardian is a thing and Yami says it's in the class of Exodia even tho it's not an instant win. (Shout out Gate Guardian for getting support 😔✊)
Yami and Joey won the duel with Black Skull Dragon and make it out of the maze with some coins.
Yami vs Kaiba ( Duel 13): this duel starts after Pegasus told Kaiba that dueling him was a privilege, not a right.
Yami and Kaiba duel with the new Duel Disk system. They're using the advanced rules, that's why it's one monster at a time.
With the duel system, you can recall your monsters and replace them with a different one.
Yami falls for the Crush Card Virus trap and can now only use weak monsters.
He makes his Kuriboh wall, and Kaiba summons his Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon to try and get past it. He doesn't.
Yami then uses his stupid fucking arrow card that I can never remember the name of because it's so stupid and dumb to fuse his Mammoth Graveyard to the Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon.
The dragon starts to decay, Kaiba has a panic attack and threatens to kill himself, Yami says "Bet", Yugi stops him, Kaiba wins.
Téa vs Mai ( duel 14): Téa wants to get Yugi his star chips back and challenges Mai to a duel.
During this duel Téa summons a bunch of wimpy cards like Petite Angel and most of them get destroyed by Mai's Harpie Lady.
Mai has a bunch of equip spells on her Harpie and Téa Wabokued her once.
Shining Friendship gets summoned, gets an equip spell, and Téa activates De-spell to remove Mai's equips.
Mai surrenders and Téa gives Yugi some chips.
Pegasus vs Kaiba (duel 15): in this duel Kaiba is trying to get his brother back.
Kaiba tries to get Pegasus to use his new Duel Disk system, but it doesn't go well.
The duel begins and Kaiba destroys some of Pegasus's monsters, but then Pegasus steals a Blue eyes and turns it into an Ugly Ass Toon.
Kaiba starts losing.
We learn that toon monsters are hard to destroy because they hide in a book.
Also Kaiba falls for his own Crush Card Virus trap and loses.
Mai vs Yami (duel 16): I'm pretty sure Yami was originally being sexist, but I watched the dub so Yugi is the one actually doing most of the dueling here. He doesn't want Mai getting hurt.
Yugi and Yami keep falling for the stupid Mirror Wall thing and their monsters keep getting wrecked.
Then we see Harpies Pet Dragon.
Yugi Mind Controls it and puts it on a catapult to destroy the Mirror Wall (shit looked epic).
Harpies Pet Dragon comes back and we get three Harpie Ladies.
Yugi let's Yami help and they do the Black Luster Soldier ritual and win.
Joey vs Bandit Keith (duel 17): I love this duel.
Joey gets his entry card stolen and Mai gives him hers, so wholesome.
During the duel Joey is fucking shit up. He's doing so good.
Then Keith starts cheating. But Joey prevails.
He uses trap hole, kunai with chain, time wizard, baby dragon, red eyes black metal dragon, and time machine!
Bandit Keith is using Machines and everyone is wondering why. Like bro, machines are a good monster type with a lotta cards.
Anyway Keith is pulling cards out of his wrist band, tries to use Shield and Sword to wipe out Joey, it doesn't work, Keith loses.
Then Keith tries to say that Joey didn't use his own tournament entry card, but Joey shuts that down
Then Keith gets accused of cheating and is sent falling to not at all death.
Yami vs Joey (duel 18): we have to sit through a long ass montage.
Joey throws some cards away, Yami wonders why.
Yami falls for a few traps, then Joey falls for some traps, this whole time Ryou is explaining the birth of the universe to Téa while Tristan kinda stares off into space.
Joey uses his last Time Wizard of the season to bring out his Thousand Dragon, but Yami planned this.
Yami's Dark Magician has become the Dark Sage and he uses Makiyu to stop Joey's attack and wipe out Joey's life points.
Yami wins and I cried the first time I saw this duel.
Pegasus vs Yami (duel 19): the final duel of the arc.
Pegasus tells Yami that if he wins he gets whatever he wants, but if Pegasus wins he gets his soul and the puzzle.
Yami says he wants Mokuba, Kaiba, and Grandpa's souls to be released and Pegasus says "Damn I thought you hated Kaiba", but Yami just doing that for Mokuba.
The duel starts, and Yami is immediately having trouble. He can't destroy the rooms and the Gorgon's Eye is keeping him from defending.
Pegasus also turned Summoned Skull into a toon and it's being creepy.
Yami keeps getting his mind read and Yugi comes in like "what if we switch places?" And Yami says they should.
This gives Pegasus some trouble. It gives him so much trouble that the toon world gets destroyed and he takes the duel to the Shadow Realm.
Yugi dies.
The Yugi gang feel this and send him some good vibes.
This means Pegasus still can't read Yami's mind.
Pegasus does some shit with Relinquish and Yami tries his Kuriboh stunt and his Magician of Black Chaos is there.
Yami wins and gets the souls back.
Pegasus does like 10 minutes later.
Other shit that happened that was interesting/Important:
During the Pegasus and Yami duel, Tristan and Yami Bakura go off on an adventure to find Mokuba's body. This leads to the ring getting thrown in the forest.
The ring goes back to Ryou because love or something.
In the sub Mai offered Rex anything he wanted during their first encounter. This was changed in the dub.
We still don't know how Ryou snuck in the ship to Duelist Kingdom.
Shadi doesn't even try to find Yami Bakura. He just goes to one person (Yugi) and gives up.
I'll never forgive 4kids for editing out Yami Bakura sexily licking the Millennium Eye.
If Joey had a Magic Jammer he would have won his duel with Yami.
Domino City side stories:
Rebecca's cool. I like her.
Rebecca vs Yami (duel 20): this duel happened because Grandpa got accused of stealing Rebecca's Blue Eyes White Dragon card.
Rebecca's strategy is also pretty good for the time. Her deck is centered around milling cards to power up her Shadow Goul, and she uses cards like Witch of the Black Forest and Sangan to do this.
During the duel Grandpa is having flashbacks because he had a duel go exactly like this. We find out Rebecca is the granddaughter of Grandpa's friend, Arthur.
Yugi drew Soul Release, but didn't use it because... I don't know. We find out that's how the duel between Arthur and Grandpa ended.
Arthur appears, says some shit, and we never see Rebecca again.
That dumbass game thing:
I wasn't paying attention to this because there weren't any actual duels and I didn't like this part.
Duke Devlin:
This bitch really gonna say Yugi cheats in his duels and steal all the girls. Bro.
Duke vs Joey (duel 21): Joey almost wins, But Duke does an ass pull and wins at 50 life points.
Duke vs Yami (Dungeon Dice Monsters): Duke doesn't explain shit because Yami is King Of Games and should know how to play a game he's never heard of.
Duke makes fun of Yami for not knowing how to play the game he never explained, gets angry when Yami figures stuff out, and is just an ass this whole game.
I wasn't really paying attention, until shit actually started to happen because there was just a whole lotta nothing.
Eventually both players have monsters on the field, some are doing magic, others are just standing there.
Orgoth the Relentless is certainly a thing. He gets beat by the Dark Magician.
Yami wins.
Other thoughts on the Domino City stories:
I laughed when Joey told Duke "I like ya game, just not you."
More characters gotta duel like Rebecca.
The existence of Adina is weird. If Kaiba made her, ಠ_ಠ. If the Big Five Made her, then fine I get it. Mokuba is like a damsel in distress. I just don't like it.
I hope you enjoy this long ass wall of text. My redemption is going steady. I have noticed no change other than being slightly more unhinged.
Imma do this every time I finish a season.

S5 Ep : I don't know the episode numbers anymore I never wrote them down, so from here on out, I'm just going to number up from my previous post. So I guess episode 49
Fun fact I finished this post a week ago and then never pressed send. I can blame this on a lot of things, (work, illness, brain fog, etc) but at this point we just know it's the universe trying to keep me from finishing S5 of my Yugioh reblog, lmao.
So, last we left off, Sad Seto was next to die.
What makes this extra weird is that the other Seto is going to just watch this entire thing happen. He apparently didn't have enough traumatic disassociating while watching his Blue Eyes Wife die, now he will disassociate from watching himself go out in a blaze of glory, too.
Sad Seto's strategy against Zorc is not really what you'd expect out of the #2 of Egypt's court. Although...I guess before everyone biffed it, Seto was more like #5? #6?
He's above Mana I feel. Barely. Mostly because Mana probably isn't the right age to legally work, even in ancient Egypt when the working age is like...if you can walk.
But he was apparently so busy doing Aknadin's taxes that he's decided it's good judgement to throw himself at a 800 ft tall dragon/crotch/man.
for his credit, Sun Tzu's art of war hasn't been written yet.
And Sad Seto realizes his true purpose, which is that he has a smarter, stronger, and more powerful girlfriend (ish.) Which is a running theme on this show, as we all know.
In a bizarre cut that I can't believe they left on US TV...other than I think they couldn't cut this any other way, the penis dragon attached to Zork extended it's neck up to grab Blue eyes by her neck and just fling her into the ground, killing her instantly.
I don't like that the neck can extend longer. I don't like that it's a function of the dragon crotch. They knew. They knew what this looked like. Thanks, I hate it.
Also what an embarrassing way for Seto's past self to die. Truly the hieroglyphs about this event will be wild, and thousands of years later, Grandma Muto probably looked at this event etched into stone and just thought it was weird ancient pervert stuff.
Sorry if you were thinking Sad Seto would recover last minute and realize he's like the most OP person in Yugioh. He instead rotted from his hand and joined the rest of our Egyptian cast in Shadow Hell.
Leaving us with just Mana. And like kudos to her, but how on EARTH did she survive so freakin long!? Like of all of them, I thought Seto would be the last one. Not Mana. Not in a million years did I think it'd be the girl who hid in a pot.
But youknow maybe that's why she survived?
And then Bakura casually walked away from the only Seto who matters. Which is fitting, because if memory serves, that's also what Yami did to Seto for like half of the Battle City tourney.
It's such a weird strange bod on this dragon. It's such a strange bod. He's both got kind of a belly, but also is ripped to shreds. Such a weird bod.
In case you were like "We haven't given Seto enough motivation," we also toss in a few nearly dead brothers just to make sure we have properly traumatized this boy to the point where he'd duel someone who isn't Yugi Muto.
Seto decided magic exists 6 minutes ago, and he's already better at magic than Yugi Muto who's had access to it for YEARS.
Like he learned about magic in a different culture, a different time, a different language, and now he's fighting the final boss.
But it's Seto, so I buy it. He would speedrun his life like this.
That's the dialogue of the show where he says his first words were "neutron blast attack" and youknow...he probably has very few memories of himself as a child since his parents died and his other family put him up for adoption...but he knows his first words?
That, or Seto likes making his brand a reality by making up whatever nonsense it takes to make that brand legit. Which I can also see him doing.
Also please don't look at this foreshortened hand, don't look at it, ignore that this happened.
So thanks to Bakura's weird choice to drag Seto into this universe in the first place, now Bakura has to fight Seto and his 3 blue eyes that would not have existed here otherwise.
++++++ME RANTING ABOUT THE SETO ARC FEEL FREE TO SKIP++++
TBH it kinda makes the whole Sad Seto arc feel kind of like it didn't need to exist. Like this is the Seto fight that matters. This one right here, and although they share a name, it's not with the same guy who fought Zorc at the beginning of this episode.
And like I could add it to a list of problems with this season. But Sad Seto started out so interesting, and then forgot. It was like he only existed to introduce the dragon, and not explain anything at all about the nature of Seto Kaiba we know and love. Like the possession of Aknadin can be a parallel to how Seto was raised following Gozaburo's footsteps, but youknow...that's all old territory.
Like, I wish I had any sort of new growth from the interaction of either of the Seto's together in the same room, much like we've been getting from Yami facing his past self. Yami's been growing a lot, he's been facing his demons, but Seto? Seto's been walking around this desert trying find wifi.
(which like he did find a "wifey" which is almost wifi but wasn't as helpful because she was dead)
The Seto Kaiba who is fighting Bakura right now, is the same exact guy we saw at the end of the last arc against Zeigfried Von Schroeder.
Which means the reason that Seto is now souped up and capable of going up against Bakura isn't because of anything we witnessed here in this arc, but because of the weird horse guy last arc who taught him how to put up a better firewall.
And maybe there was a draft where Seto decides he is a spiritual reincarnation of the Pharaoh of Egypt. Maybe there was a draft where he gained a new ability. Maybe there was a draft where he realized the gravity of what was happening and wanted to save the world.
But it ain't this draft, unfortunately.
Seto is here not because of an internal growth reason, but because he was on a tablet in S2, and we have to know where that plot thread went to have an ending...but the show rewrote what it initially said in S2.
Like in the OG timeline, it was Seto who killed Pharaoh. But here we found out it was actually Aknadin who possessed Seto to kill Pharaoh. (and at some point in that fight, Pharaoh stuck his soul in a box and sealed away Zorc)
Sad Seto was apparently a chill bro the entire time. Just a nice guy who arrested half of Cairo and had a sort-of-girlfriend for about 8 hours before she biffed it.
And I would have been OK with that, if it were more interesting than what we initially thought happened in the past: where we thought it was a kickass Seto launching a coup. But unfortunately, it's not, instead it's a boy who started out powerless, and continued to be powerless despite working in Pharaoh's literal court. He didn't even have the power to not get possessed.
And I am sure there were other drafts, and endings are hard, and the author did get hella hospitalized while he wrote this season, animation is a miracle of many moving parts and budgets, and we were lucky to even get an ending to this show. So I don't want to sound like I'm complaining when there are so many worse directions this show could have gone. I'm just a little surprised it went this direction, mostly.
But say what you will about Yugioh, it doesn't like to be predictable, doesn't it?
+++++++++++++++++++OK I'M DONE++++++++++++++++++++++
Speaking of characters who haven't gained anything from being here, Tristan is no longer possessed!
Tristan begs his apologies and Yugi takes it gracefully. Which means, it's time for the main character of this entire show to finally re-enter the plot.
And they do so, in style.
Y'all I remember being excited about the look and style of extreme sports, but I do not remember this many heelies in the 00's.
Anyway, this is the link to read these in chrono order, you know the drill. See you next time to see yet another girlfriend biff it!

@ygoc-week day 5 is swap, so let’s swap to talking about another OC for a bit!
YU-GI-OH! DM — ISABELLA “IZZ” ROOKE
Oh Izz. Izz baby. My girl :3c She's the main character of a DM alternate fic called Soul Release, named after a card that's very important to her. She survived a tragic pileup that killed her entire family. Unbeknownst to her, this event tied her to a freshly-born reincarnation of Anubis named Rin in this verse.
This version of DM also includes a faction of worshippers of Apophis because of the existence of The Prophet of Apophis, a strong leader and manipulator… as cult leaders tend to be.
Aigami/Diva also appears earlier in this story rather than being a post-canon aspect; we get a Kisara reincarnation named Sapha, a German TCG champion; and Battle City gets a top 16 on the blimp with these three OCs especially mixing things up via their being chosen by the Wickeds.
I say “chosen,” but both Yami Bakura/Zorc and Rin/Anubis work together to create them to oppose the Egyptian gods. Yami B and Rin have a… working relationship, very much rooted in “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.” They both strive for the pharaoh’s downfall. Rin chooses Avatar for herself while Yami B takes Wicked Dreadroot. Then Prophet blows up the museum, catching Yami B in the blast, and steals it for himself. Rin gives Eraser to Izz because she sees Izz as a puppet Rin can coerce to do her bidding anytime, including opposing the pharaoh.
Izz moves to Yugi and co’s school. She’s fairly distant from everyone in her life because of the tragedy, but they are kind to her and she is kind in turn. She wins local tournaments and tops regionals because, in order to hide from grief, she fixates on Duel Monsters deckbuilding and ratios and meta etc. This is enough to earn her a Duelist Kingdom invite. Overall, she’s an anxious mess who needs a hug and isn’t sure how to properly interact with other people anymore. She feels like a cataclysm waiting to happen again and again.
Now the elephant in the room! You see her with the Pyramid of Light. Rin approaches Izz after her first regional win. Izz is weak at the knees for beautiful women (and men—everyone is a bi disaster, remember?). Rin explains she hosted the tournament and forgot about a particular prize. She compliments Izz’s dueling and gifts her the Pyramid of Light, saying she’d like to get to know her better. Izz is flabbergasted and accepts the Pyramid, asking only what it is. Rin only describes it as valuable jewelry and recommends Izz keep it on her person.
The iridescent swirls in the pyramid’s sky blue are mesmerizing to Izz, and staring at it provides an indescribable comfort… and focal point to keep her grounded/stop her out of body experiences such that she does indeed wear it constantly
This has an unintended side effect
See, Izz wears a necklace (in the artwork, matches Dark Magician Girl’s pendant) that just so happens to contain the ancient and slumbering spirit of Mana. Being so close to the dark energy of the Pyramid of Light stirs her, and she becomes Izz’s ghost like companion similar to the pharaoh and Yugi. Mana is always trying to be a positive influence on Izz where Rin is like the devil on her shoulder. Izz often makes mistakes and trusts the wrong people, hurting her friendships with the gang and repairing them again.
Her using Wicked Dreadroot however… that one will certainly be difficult to come back from.
And as for pairings, I’m undecided and going so many directions! I would probably have to write it all out.
(but my heart says fellow orphan Seto Kaiba if Izz can ever look away from all the other gorgeous gorgeous guys and gals) (Rin can’t stop rizzing her up) (y’all just WAIT until she meets Ishizu)
I’m just a writer! Artist credit in first image and rest are picrew

Sometimes I think about the fact that, in the Yugioh anime, Marik was close enough to the Dulist Kingdom Island to pick up Bandit Keith when he got thrown into the ocean. I assume he was there for the god cards or something, or maybe just to threaten Pegasus, or maybe he heard about Yugi being there. Who knows.
But that does leave the door open to a fun (to me at least lol) au. What if Marik chose to sneak into that tournament instead? He gets the island mid tournament, steals a glove, and just goes for it. Of course, Pegasus probably knows this, but either he’s just fine with letting it happen, or he’s actually just too busy stalking Yugi and co.
I would imagine that Marik wasn’t actually meaning to meet Yugi there. He, in this au, was coming to threaten Pegasus for info on the god cards, and felt this was the best way to get inside the castle freely. But of course, he gets drawn into the protagonist ring, and runs into the gang at the worst time- right before Bakura joins them.
It’s late in the day, Yugi and co just got done with their last duel (Rex I think? I honestly don’t remember what was right before Bakura lol) and then they run into this weird guy. But it’s ok! He seems really nice, and a pretty strong duelist. He’s just shy!
Marik, for his part, panicked and gave a fake name. He didn’t want to meet the Pharaoh yet! Did he know about Yami specifically at this point, or did he just think the pharaoh had gotten reincarnated? I’m going to go with the last one for now. He just thinks Yugi is the pharaoh reincarnation. Anyway, his stomach growls at the worst time, which means that Yugi and co invite him to camp with them tonight! The bigger the group, the less likely anyone would ambush them for a midnight duel!
Marik has no choice but to say yes, because he’s now even more undercover and has decided to use this to his advantage. He gets close to Yugi and steals the puzzle, that’s what he will do!
So they go and camp, and everything is normal, and then Bakura shows up.
Joey: Bakura?! What are you doing here?
Bakura: I snuck on board the ship, just like you!
Yugi: Nomu (that was Marik’s fake name right?) this is our school friend, Roy Bakura!
Marik:…. He just followed you guys to the island, without talking to anyone? Is he apart of your friend group? He’s not in the tournament- he has no glove! Isn’t this weird to anyone else?
Bakura: I don’t know, I think this is fine.
Triston: Yeah man! Bakura is our friend! It sure is glad to see him!
Bakura: Hey, here’s a fun idea! Let’s play a game of Duel monsters, but first let’s each pick our favorite cards to put in the deck, for no reason! Me vs Yugi!
Marik, suddenly sensing shadow magic:…. Oh my god. This is such a bad idea.
Marik, later, in the body of a fiend type monster: Why did no one listen to me?!
Joey: Oh like you knew that our old pal here would get possessed by a dark spirit and try to kill us!
Marik: …. I will admit, this was not how I thought my night would go.
Of course, this would be where he would realize that Yami existed. He probably glared really hatefully at him once he was summoned, confusing everyone. Marik was then forced to put a very confused act to make it look like he actually had no idea what was happening.
Bakura would also be able to tell Marik had magic, probably. But he would also probably focus on Yugi first, since he definitely didn’t know about Yami before that duel. Bakura probably thought that Yugi would be an easier mark, and then he could deal with this new guy in the corner.
Marik would probably leave the next morning, after the duel with Panik, but before Ryo and Yugi have the conversation about the Ring. Mostly because, otherwise, the Ring would immediately point to the Rod that Marik definitely did not leave with Odion on the boat, and we can’t have that!
Marik goes off and gets the rest of his star chips- he probably takes the place of Bandit Keith somehow? He can’t take Mai or Joey’s place, because they now know Marik and he couldn’t just take his. But he could take Keith’s! And he’s not afraid to stab someone to get what he wants, when Keith threats him with a gun afterwards, probably.
Keith might be dead in this au. Sorry to all the Bandit Keith friends.
Marik would meet back up the the group up on the top of the stairs, right before the duel with Kaiba.
I don’t think he would honestly change more of the DK plot. He would be on the sidelines for the major duels, and then duel Joey in the semi-finals. He would sneak out alone that first night in the castle o go and threaten Pegasus, only to one) be caught by Tea, Triston, and Joey, two) be confronted by Bakura, where Marik has to act dumb to not be caught with magic, and C) get sucked into that weird ritual thing Pegasus was doing that the gang find that is never mentioned again.
Marik, afterwards: ….what in the name of Ra was that????
I don’t know if he would forfit to Joey, or just fake lose, but he would throw the match. He isn’t there to win, and he honestly doesn’t want Pegasus’s attention on him more than he needs too, outside of Marik’s own choosing.
He gets suckered into “Friendship is the real power, guys! That’s how we save Yugi!” And he is shocked that it works. Like, this is something that he rants about for days to Odion once he’s back on the boat. (Odion just wants Marik to make friends.)
I like to think Marik also gets involved with the whole Triston and Bakura side plot with Mokuba’s body, because he would just be making snarky comments the whole time.
Bakura: Go, Maneater bug!
Triston: What is that?!
Marik: Maneater bug, Triston. Keep up.
And
Bakura: I want a host with no soul, so it won’t fight against me.
Marik: Are you two compatible??
Bakura: …huh?
Marik: Every soul can go into every body? Probably not.
Bakura: Well-
Marik: Also, what happens when Yugi gets Mokuba’s soul back?
Bakura: We don’t know that yet!
Marik, giving him a look: Don’t we? Really? And anyway, you want to be running around as a ten year old? A child? Do you think anyone will take you seriously? Really?
Bakura, sputtering: Well, you- more seriously than you and your lavender crop top!
Marik: I’m hurt. Really. Triston, I have given you so many chances to punch him and you have taken none of them.
Triston: Oh. Right. (And then he punches him) you know, you are taking this magic thing really well.
Marik:…. I’m just an easy going kind of guy.
Triston: Yeah, it’s amazing how nothing really bothers you.
Marik: Yep. Nothing.
And then the rest of DK would probably be normal. Marik is too late to threaten Pegasus after the dueling, because Bakura gets to him first. So Marik just has to leave empty handed.
But now he has an in with the pharaoh! Maybe if he keeps being friends with him, he could learn his dueling strategies and defeat him that much more easily!
So he enrolls himself at Domino High. Odion really hopes that he makes some friends.
There will probably be a part two of this later lol

Do you have singing voice HCs for any DM characters?
Ooh good question! Of course you can take my headcanons with a grain of salt, but I'm happy to share!
I sort of do, but not quite to the same degree as my hyperfixation on my GX crew singing voice headcanons. Or maybe it is actually it's been a while since I've thought about these guys that way aksksk
Like for instance we have a frame of reference for Seto because Eric Stuart is a singer. Which would apply to Bastion a little bit too through the transitive property of voice actors but Seto's voice is more or less just Eric's and Bastion's isn't so I think about them very differently.
Side note: Seto can sing and has a nice voice but would literally never sing ever in his life so I don't think even he knows what his vocals are like. 🤭
We also sorta have a frame of reference for Téa because in my experience we all just kinda agree that it's her singing We'll Be There even though it's not actually Amy Birnbaum singing. But from that frame of reference I think it's safe to say I think she'd have a very pop-y voice. Her voice is light enough to be very agile for runs and has the energy for more upbeat songs. I also think she lives more in the upper register, not quite full soprano though. She'd probably be more of a mezzo soprano in like a choir or something like that. But she's got a great belting range. So jealous
Tristan I actually think about the most. I think he actually has a very good voice and everyone is surprised by that when they find out. It's kinda like a secret talent but he's modest about it. He's the most musically adept between the four of them apart from Téa since she's a dancer and has that side on lock too, but he keeps it to himself. But goddammit his voice is smooth like butter and lives in that middle voice range. Get him on a nice slow acoustic song and he'll change your fucking life.
Joey is the most amateurish with his sound and general talent but he tries. He's lowkey jealous of Tristan's innate vocal talent and tries harder to get good so he can one up him at first but then just grows to enjoy it. And he's more of a belter than Tristan which he loves to flex but in a fun and playful way. Hid voice like I said is amateurish and rough and unrefined, but he's got the spirit and the potential to be a very very good vocalist as he improves.
Bakura has the sweetest most gentle tuckin voice in the world 😭 except for Yugi but shhhhh! Like you want him singing lullabies to your kids at night. His voice is very melodious and his British accent survives in his vocals which just 😭 his range is deceptively low though but is generally very wide.
I haven't thought super deep into Duke or Mai but I have decided they both have deep, sultry, very sexy voices 😩 Like they would KILL in a midnight piano bar. Voice part wise I've always had it in my mind that Mai would be an alto, probably 2nd alto, and Duke would be a baritone. I also can't imagine any senerio where Mai doesn't have natural vibrato 😩
And Yugi 🤔 Yugi is very self conscious about his voice but like Bakura, he has the fucking sweetest most gentle voice you've ever heard. It's just as gentle as he is, and his range leans more on the higher side but he's got more of a lower register than Sy does of you know my headcanon about him 🤭 Joey loves to be his hype man if the situation ever arises where Yugi sings anything like if they're having a karaoke night or something and he appreciates the sentiment but get soooo embarrassed. He and Téa duet at karaoke night a lot and their voices are very well matched 🥰
Tbh haven't really thought about Atem that much that way 🤔 but in my mind he's a bass/baritone. But he probably has a very nice voice too, strong and warm and just a kinda naturally refined sound. I dunno really, but he can definitely sing 😅
Hope that's a satisfactory answer for you! 💜

Irateshipping, Angstshipping and Protectshipping for the meme?
For Protectshipping:
I don’t know them enough | wtf | why | just NO | tolerable | they’re okay | cute | awww | babies | hot | I will go down with this ship | OTP
I don't talk about them a ton but. I do like them a lot. It does always strike me as interesting that Tristan always seemed to be the one with the best idea as to if Ryou was possessed (and always seemed to care the most lol), which has the implication that outside of the series proper that either A) they were spending a ton of time together offscreen, more so than anyone else with Ryou or B) Tristan just really really really likes Ryou and is instinctively operating under Good Boyfriend Instinct. Also I like it because it really is just Normal Man x little supernatural nerd with Everything going on. P.S. yami bakura Tristan is coming after you with a baseball bat and exorcism equipment next time you interrupt Romantic Monster World Night
For Irateshipping:
I don’t know them enough | wtf | why | just NO | tolerable | they’re okay | cute | awww | babies | hot | I will go down with this ship | OTP
goddamn. You know I'm obsessed with them. Now everyone knows I'm obsessed with them. I wouldn't call it "OTP" because I can still picture them with other people (and in canon I don't think it would progress very fast if at all because frankly they are both repressing any and all attraction they have towards each other like nothing else) BUT. I do like them sooooo much. The triangle between thematic parallels-belligerent romantic tension-blonde men who will die a peculiar hamster-like death makes me sososososo happy.
For Angstshipping:
I don’t know them enough | wtf | why | just NO | tolerable | they’re okay | cute | awww | babies | hot | I will go down with this ship | OTP
I'm. I'm going to be honest with you here. I do not know why but I literally have never been into angstshipping. You would have thought I would be! It has all the Proper Ingredients! But I never have liked it a ton!!! Idk why!!!! I do think they get bonus points because that first date would be awkward as hell "Do you remember that time you brainwashed me and nearly killed me with God until even the demon possessing me thought you were off the rails <3" "Please don't bring that up while we're ordering antipasta. Please. please at least wait until the main course at least. I can't deal with that and the stress of picking something off this three page menu. pleas"

Starting Guide:
Carrd / Interest Tracker / OC Master List
PSA TO NON ROLEPLAY BLOGS
Please do not reblog my posts. This is a roleplay blog and having my rp’s or headcanon posts spread around is really frustrating. It super messes up my activity and it’s really disheartening to see a notification and realize it’s not an ask or an rp reply. Those posts are not for you, and it’s stated in my rules that I block non-rp blogs on sight.
To-Do List:
Drafts ( 22 ) / Inbox ( 24 ) / Queue ( 4 )
Other Blogs:
Mike Total Drama
Rules + Muse List below The Cut!
1.) Fandoms
My blog is, as a rule, not affiliated with any of the fandoms that my muses come from, and are largely products of my own headcanons, I'll list on the muse page which muses are fully canon divergent and which ones follow canon, as it can vary depending on how I feel about the media they come from.
2.) Basic RP Etiquette
Don't control or override the actions of my characters, don't kill them without asking, no forcibly shipping with my character without talking to me first, really basic stuff for everyone's comfort, really.
3.) NSFW
I generally don't like NSFW unless we're very close rp partners, and if we do engage in that kind of shipping it will lead directly to fade to black, I don't have a sinblog, and don't have an interest in one, so any smut will have to be implied at best. Otherwise, darker subject matter like gore and other darker themes involving mental health will be explored and tagged appropriately.
4.) Dropping Threads
I'm guilty of dropping threads when I lose my muse for them and get overwhelmed. I'm working on reaching out more and sending memes to my mutuals, but I'm a very shy person. The best way to start things with me is to approach me in DM's or send me a meme.

Oh also consulting on that last ask ended up with us discussing how shit would go if all the Ryo expies were forced to live in a house together, so bonus I guess:
-Kaworu is relatively unbothered by the madness but does try to keep things civil where possible. Tells Shinji his siblings are a little wild but generally downplays it because he doesn't know what's normal and Shinji is not prepared when he goes over for the first time
-Mikaela is like "god I can't stand living here you're all insane and I just don't have the patience to deal with the fallout every time" and has to stop Yuu from trying to join Komaeda in building bombs in the kitchen
-Mika's one of the less likely ones to kill someone over interpersonal drama, however physical violence is still very on the table and he probably considers whether or not he has a moral obligation to take out certain others (top of the list being Light)
-Homura is the first to have a psychotic breakdown because dealing with deranged twinks is even worse when you're not a twink yourself
-Anthy starts trying to poison the rest of the household. Homura joins her when she finds out
-Ryo is second to have a psychological breakdown (as soon as the weed runs out)
-the ones who would get REALLY fed up first would be Goro and then Mika and Homura, but Homura reacts first and Mika and Goro stew for a while. Goro definitely tries to kill someone when he snaps though
-[Mikael]: Ryo doesn't really interact with anyone. He owns the house but is a cryptid in it. Sometimes people will spot him ominously leaning and like . Smoking or shoving his face full of candy in the middle of the night. They know he lives in the house because they can like. Hear him blasting music but they can never tell where it's coming from
[Me]: Bro Strider if he wasn't abusive
-eventually they start to form factions. Don't know who sides with who or how long any of these last though
-Dio and Sephiroth just instantly kill each other at the same time. While having sex.
-Light and Goro start sapiosexually courting eachother before Goro realizes what a spoiled brat he is and then gets into a fist fight with him which devolves into repeated attempts to kill each other as non-homoerotically as possible. The more Goro gets to know Light, the more he hates him, and the more he especially hates the ways that they're similar
-Yami Bakura keeps laying traps for everyone home alone style but they constantly fail. Like he does this extensively. They only ever succeed in trapping Komaeda (who everyone assumes just keeps getting into these accidents by himself) and occasionally Teru (who effortlessly escapes from said traps and both genuinely thinks they're normal pranks and enjoys winding Bakura up when he gets out of them. Slaps Bakura on the back and says "that was a good one" each time while Bakura is fuming with rage)
-Joshua is the only one in complete control the whole time. He thinks this shit is hilarious and is constantly egging the others on and trolling them. This is his Heaven, at least until a few of them figure out how to get under his skin intentionally. Livestreams the big fights or schemes online
-N, Clear, and Normal Bakura start a therapy group, but Mikaela and Kaworu are the only ones that show up. N and Mikaela cry on the regular there while Clear and Bakura start playing smash in the background. Kaworu insists he's completely fine but just goes because he thinks group therapy is a good idea
-no one in this fucking house can be trusted to cook besides Clear and, ironically, Mika (the guy who can't actually eat it). Way harder to get Mika to actually cook for them than Clear though
#none of this is deeply thought out please dont assume it is#multiple friends were involved in this one but im not tagging everyone or noting who said what so ill just tag this as#servers#ryo expies#oshiete oshiete yo

Chains pt. 2
Kicking the door down was like getting smacked in the face. The heat of the blaze punched through the opening, already starting to prickle at Joey's exposed face and hands. It did nothing to stop him from charging in, straight for his best friend.
But his best friend hardly paid him any mind.
"Yugi, what are you doing?!" he hears Tristan cry.
"Yugi, we have to go!!" screams Téa.
"Yugi--"
"i can't leave!!" Yugi shouts. "i. i can't leave without the puzzle. get duke and bakura and ootogi-san out of here, i--"
The puzzle! In pieces! The other Yugi, their other friend. Without hesitating, Joey rushes over to try to rip out the steak that has the puzzle trapped in place by its chain. But even with Tristan's help, it just won't budge. Too hard to get a proper grip, and very quickly getting too hot to hold.
"Are you nuts, Yugi? The fire's spreading, we gotta go!!" Joey urges.
"i won't leave my other me behind!! if i leave the puzzle, i'll never see him again!! i made a promise, i have to see him!!" Yugi jerks his arm away as Tristan tries to tug him from his seat.
"please!!! please, all of you just. let me stay here and finish the puzzle!" Yugi begs, tears streaming down his face. "let me be with him, let me see him one last time..."
Last... He can't mean...?
Joey yanks his friend by the front of his shirt. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN, 'ONE LAST TIME!?'" he demands, not knowing if his eyes are stinging from the heat, his sweat, or tears. "Yugi! Nothing'll come out of you dyin'!" Yugi won't meet his eyes. Not that he's looking away; he's too focused on the puzzle. The one that took him years to put together in the first place. "DON'T BE A MORON!"
But Yugi isn't listening to him. Or any of their other friends. He's too focused on trying to save the other him.
Joey would do anything to save his friends. Why should he take that chance away from Yugi?
Alright, everyone OUT!" he shouts, shooing the others toward the door. "It's too dangerous for you guys to stay here! And there ain't nothin' that'll make Yugi let go of that puzzle."
They're shocked. They hesitate. But they understand. He can see it in Tristan's eyes. That he's just as determined as Yugi.
"Take care of him, Joey," Tristan says, somber. "I want to see both of you come back alive!"
"We will." He's calm. Certain. "Don't worry!" He will do what he has to.
The fire is everywhere, now. It's hard to see that Yugi is even still in the room with him. The very air around them hurts, making just breathing painful. He could fail. They could die. Joey looks at the blurry outline of the person he cares about more than just about anyone in the world, bent over the table on his own rescue mission. And he waits. He'd walk to the edge of the world for him, but like hell he's letting him fall over it. Even if he has to knock him out and drag him away, he will not let Yugi die.
But... is he really willing to sacrifice another person to do it? While they don't know much about the other Yugi, he is his own person. Will he really have to leave him behind, risk losing or damaging the puzzle pieces? Would that kill him? Would he murder a man to save his best friend? Even if Yugi hated him for it? Joey wrestles with these thoughts as the fire blazes hotter still, and Yugi pieces the Millennium Puzzle together at a lightning speed.
Part of the ceiling crashes to the floor.
Time to go!
"Yugi!" Joey charges over, finding Yugi collapsed over the table, an iron grip on the puzzles chain. The puzzle, with the last piece in place. he really did it, didn't he? But there's no time to check, to make sure it's solid, the building is going to come down on top of them. Joey hefts Yugi up on his back, turns to run, and stumbles when Yugi's grip on the chain remains unbroken. "Yugi!? Let go of the puzzle!"
He turns, setting Yugi back down. He goes for his hand, trying to pry his fingers off of the chain. "Move your hand!!" It's burning him. "Let go of the puzzle!!" The air burns, the chain burns, the puzzle burns. Will his hands scar? "YOU'LL DIE IF YOU STAY HERE!!!" His fingers just won't move. Almost as if they can't.
Almost as if the puzzle is holding on, too.
"Yugi...!" Joey yanks at the chain, yanks at the table. He doesn't know if it's bolted to the floor, or if it's just too heavy. Nothing gives. "What do I do...!?"
He could break Yugi's hand.
Smash his fingers loose. Abandon their other friend. Yugi would never forgive him, but at least he'd be alive to hate him. Two out of three surviving would be better than none, right?
"Joey."
He's not sure he actually heard that, the roar of the fire is so loud. Yugi still isn't moving. But he felt that voice. "Yugi!?"
That's right. They're both his friends, and they're both counting on him. And he is not going to let them down!
Joey looks again at the table, seeing the weird game board. With snake heads, and that hand! That outstretched hand, the fingers on it would fit right in the ring on top of the metal steak. "That's it!" He can't pull the steak out, he can't even touch it anymore, but he can use this. He jams one of the fingers into the metal ring, leaving the game board on its side; a perfect makeshift lever. There's so little time left, but he knows. "We are NOT! Gonna! DIE!!" He swings a leg up and stomps down with all his might, ripping the steak out of the wood and launching it across the room. It disappears into the flames.
He doesn't throw Yugi over his back this time. He picks him up gently, holding him close to his chest. If something falls on them, it's going to hit him first. Joey shifts so that the puzzle is carefully tucked between the two of them, so that even if Yugi's grip slackens, it won't fall as he runs.
"...Sorry." He doesn't know if the Yugi in the puzzle can hear him. But he already feels guilty. He was so strongly considering leaving him to die... But Yugi, his best friend Yugi, he wasn't. Yugi would throw himself into danger for a friend, no matter the cost. Even when it got him beat up. Even when he suffered. Even if it killed him.
"...Sorry to both of ya."
He's not sure how long he ran, but eventually they made it. Out into the night, past the burning doors, the rushing firefighters. Into the crowd of onlookers. Straight to his friends.
"JOEY!"
"Is Yugi...!?"
"Don't worry, he's fine. Told ya, didn't I?" Joey's clothes are smoldering. Hes skin stings, even in the cool air. "Look." Look how brave his friend is. "He finished the puzzle while the building was burnin' down around him..." He made sure his friend wouldn't be left to die. "He held onto it the whole time. He wouldn't let go of the chains..."

Duel Link Event #1:Welcome to Toon World
The Event Scenario: Pegasus has come to Duel Link to thank Kaiba for spreading the game of Duel Monsters in a manner everyone can enjoy. He creates a tournament similar to his Duelist Kingdom Tournament, where players collect star chips to challenge him and if they win against Pegasus they are rewarded with possible riches. Pegasus jokes a bit about putting souls in cards hinting at his past deeds. After a while you can duel lvl 50 pegasus saying that a duel between you and Pegasus at their best deserve to be a special duel, a shadow game. However by the end of the event it's reveal he did this all for fun and all the evil stuff was just to mess with people.
Interactions: Pegasus in the event has interactions with Yami Yugi, Kaiba, Joey, Mai, Tea, Weevil, Rex Raptor, Yami Bakura and Bandit Keith. Seeing how this event is mostly lost to time, I'll give a brief summary of each character interaction.
Yami Yugi: Tells Pegasus no funny business
Kaiba: Pegasus assure Kaiba, he isn't here to take Kaiba Corps again.
Joey: Pegasus tells Joey of the priceless rewards he will get if he beat Pegasus in a duel.
Mai: Mai has no beef with Pegasus, just want to win money.
Tea: Pegasus calls Tea "Yugi Girlfriend", she never doesn't denies it.
Weevil: Pegasus forget Weevil cause he was to first to lose to Yugi in DK.
Rex: Pegasus forget Rex and keeps messing up his name, Rex Rapper.
Bakura: Bakura "Pretty sure I killed you and took your eye, let just do it again."
Bandit Keith: Pegasus just assume Bandit Keith survive the gun shot and swam back home after his men threw him out.
Decks: Level 10-40, Pegasus uses a toon deck. If you duel Pegasus on level 50 he uses a Relinquish deck. Should also mention that as a super duelist while roaming he would use an enhance Toon deck(this was before toon bls, harpies etc. was ever release).
This concludes the first Duel log. I would also like to mention that while Bakura could interact with Pegasus, Bakura event would be the next event after Pegasus original event. Pegasus event would have 2 reruns so you would only see the interaction in these two rerun. Pegasus would also be one of the first cpu characters to be able to use a skill. Duel Link now no longer do cpu characters with skills as well as no longer do super duelist roaming events. These things were meant to be a fun challenges for players but too many player complained about them being too hard and a potential wall for content. So Konami stopped them.

20 Questions for Writers
Tagged by @cxttlefishcxller, thank you my friend!
I really wanted to tag Pix, but I can’t seem to remember your blog’s URL. ;;;
Note: I am unsure if "fic" here indicates fanfic or also includes original fic, but I assumed fanfic for some reason? Meh, most of what I write is fanfiction anyways.
Also, this got really long....
How many works do you have on AO3?
So, I don't really have many fics posted on Ao3. I have like. Three, I think? I'm working on moving them over! I just only want the Rewritten Better Versions on Ao3.
Update: It's 4! I forgot I put the Ruby Gloom fic up there hoping someone would adopt it.
(Fanfiction.net has 33, for comparsion.)
What is your total AO3 word count?
...How does one find that out without manually adding the numbers up....????
Edit: I found the Statistics page. It's 35,853
Fanfic.net would be over 300,000 though.
What fandoms do you write for?
Actively: Teen Titans and Pokemon! I also started a Ruby Gloom fic and almost-entirely-outlined but never-fully-wrote a Steven Universe fanfic. (Well, I did finish the Ocean Gem scene from Lapis's POV. Does that count?)
As far as RPing (you did only say "write for", after all!): - Teen Titans (Dove's main verse, which is part 00's show and part 80's comics) - Steven Universe (my Lapis blog was kinda active for awhile and though my Blue Diamond blog never saw any actual roleplaying, I did write a lot of headcanons!) - Yu-Gi-Oh! (Ryou Bakura, like Blue, was never roleplayed except once on rabb.it but I wrote scattered heacanons) - DCAMU (Raven, of course! Would love to get some actual rps going with her again. But alas. The Horrors.)
What are your top five fics by kudos?
So, kudos is specific to Ao3, and I don't have a lot there. Apparently, uhh.... the only fic that has any kudos at all is the 14 on Unforeseen and Unforesaken.
....I was going to say "But on fanfic.net..." Except fanfic.net doesn't have a comparable feature. {lD;;
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I really should! I just. Keep forgetting to check my email. I would, given the time and attention spoons and a computer that actually stays connected to the internet for longer than 15 minutes at a time...
What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
It's not done yet. But it's going to be the final chapter of DDD. Dove literally asks, "I killed five people. Do I deserve to die?" It's... going to be Intense and come with a few content warnings because it's HEAVY.
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
So far? Uhhhh........ I mean, A work of Magic (Pokemon fic) is pretty upbeat so far. The story basically BEGINS with Jess wanting to raise a Misdreavus and Mismagius (and finding them); Murky hating his flock (and he's with a trainer now so he's away from them); Missie being abandoned (but then found by a trainer who loves her!); and Mistress's arc is in the works (ha) but it's already begun (she's mad about her species being hated for their reputation but Jess doesn't care about that). It's going to be ALL happy endings.
I think, in the published stories, it might be between Mystery Sickness (Raven heals from the titular sickness and everyone's happy!) or Missing: Raven (wherein the titular missing Raven returns and everyone's happy!). In my unpublished fics though... Fire and Flight is going to end with Dove and Srentha getting married, and that's a really blissful scene for them, of course. This is hard actually because I don't like NOT-happy endings! They mostly all do except the ones that have direct sequels (DDD and Something Special).
Do you get hate on your fic?
Oh my stars, I USED to! Dove's core concept - "Raven's sister" - made SO many people mad! Keep in mind, I started sharing my stories in 2005 or 2006. Writing a character that fit arbitrary criteria that everyone else except me somehow knew was a !!SIN!!. (Two exclamation points for Mercymorn vibes are, in this case, intentional.)
One of the first things I shared was Dove's character bio. And people almost always said things like "She's a Mary Sue!" Simply because she was related to Raven. Or "She has too many powers!" (And Raven canonically has a new power like every 3 issues in the comics; what's your point?) People also said I wasn't allowed to make Dove like J-Pop because I also liked J-pop. Which is. Like. ??? H u h ? ? ? ???
It didn't make sense to me then and it doesn't make sense to me now.
I don't think I've gotten any hate in the past 10 years or so, though. Though I personally consider it equivalent to hate when someone goes to my Teen Titans stories and, in a review on that Teen Titans fanfic, without commenting on anything whatsoever regarding the content of the Teen Titans story, asks me to update the Ruby Gloom fic.
Fuck off.
(I got Really Painfully Disappointed when I saw that email that someone reviewed DDD! The first review on that story in YEARS! A story I've poured my heart and soul [and a little bit of my own mindscape experience] into creating! Only for it to be someone begging--on the WRONG DAMN STORY-- for me to update something I already explicitly said I was no longer writing.)
Do you write smut?
Not really. Not often. Not well. I mostly just have outlines. And there are like. Five scenes outlined. Brief scenes. (99.5% of the time, I don't care about smut at all. It's just not fun for me unless I am REALLY in EXACTLY the right mood to have fun with it.)
Do you write crossovers?
I did once! Unfortunately that was the only time I ever felt shame, because I thought it was Too Self-Indulgent and for some reason decided it was silly. Pokemon and Teen Titans. Dove gets a transportation spell wrong and ends up in the Pokemon world, and accidentally catches a Misdreavus. (Because what else would I write about in the Pokemon world? XD) I had this really fun idea about the ghost getting stuck in Raven's mindscape and Dove has to go in there to retrieve it. But I simply didn't have any idea where the story was going and lost interest. It's the only story I've ever deleted, and I regret it so much. I lost the flashdrive that had the original file on it and all the notes for that scene, too. u.u
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge. Although, let's be real, the idea that "Raven has a sister named Dove" is Very Far from Unique. Stories like that were all over 2000's fanfic.net. (I named my Dove independently and refuse to change it. It Has MEANING for mine, okay!)
Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not to my knowledge?
Have you ever co-written a fic?
Most of the process! Sort of. A Work of Magic (my ACTUAL Pokemon fanfiction) is going to involve my best friend's trainer character as my trainer character's traveling companion! Eventually. Assuming I ever publish enough of the story to solidify Jess's team first....
That's also assuming rping doesn't count, by the way. I assume you mean fic as in "fanfiction specifically". But if RPs count, I have co-authored a GREAT many fics! In fact the first 5ish years I was roleplaying, it was in a chatroom specifically for Teen Titans OCs!
What's your all-time favorite ship?
This may be cheating, but my VERY FAVORITE ship is actually my OCxOC ship, Dove and Srentha! Secretshipping! My babies. The first romantic interest/couple I ever actually cared about.
If it HAAAAS to be a ship of characters within the realm of canon... JeriRae is probably the one. Though Lapidot was a contender for awhile.
I also really liked the OCxRaven ship in my favorite Teen Titans fanfiction... before I reread it at an age where I realized it's Weird to ship a 25 year old man with a character that the story states "hasn't even reached her sixteenth birthday". Their dynamic would be REALLY exciting if it wasn't a little creepy.
What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Honestly? All the smut scenes. I write at such an agonizingly slow pace as it is, but when I'm not actually In the Mood For Smutty Things, I'm actually mildly s*x-repulsed and when I'm not repulsed, I am simply Disinterested, and I'm not going to write it if it's Not Interesting.
What are your writing strengths?
Characterization so every character feels unique and alive! Maybe dialogue, as a subset of characterization and also sounding Pretty Natural? Using descriptive words that paint vivid pictures and echo vivid sounds and evoke powerful emotions! I've gotten my writing to a place where it generally flows very well, syntax-wise. Immersive descriptions of sensory experiences (especially tactile and auditory). Being able to get into the character's head and write the scene As They See It without using first-person. Character growth and developement is a Big Thing. I'm also learning to write better metaphors! (Still learning quite the right places to wield them, but I used to use a ton of hyperbole and modifiers that kinda killed the mood. I'm getting WAY better at them now though!)
Also, fic-specific: Hella headcanons! Especially for something I'm really interested in, like Azarath or how Raven's powers work. My analytical mind combined with the joy and perpetuity of hyperfixation means I analyze a LOT of little details in canon.
I can take a line that only briefly mentions a "magistrate of food production" and extrapolate an Entire Aspect of Society. (They have people in charge of food production! It's an organized aspect of society! It's HIERARCHICAL. "Magistrate" means he's judging things; he's not the only one calling the shots! It's PRODUCTION, which means it's not all foraged! They have a whole system for it; it's REGULATED! And I'm just now, at this very moment, thinking "holy shit, what did they do when the magistrate of food production fucking PERISHED"... not like that was the most important part of that scene. But. I never considered that before. Food is pretty important. I actually need to gnaw on this for awhile.)
What are your writing weaknesses?
Humor and fight scenes. Also fluff and smut, but I don't really enjoy writing those. There may be Occasional Fluff, especially in secretshipping scenes with Dove and Srentha, and usually it comes out pretty sweet, but it's always wrapped in Actual Story. And smut just. Doesn't really have any place in my writing. I've outlined a few things, "fully written" one singular lime scene. (It might eventually someday possibly conceivably become more than a lime. Maybe.)
But humor? I absolutely suck at that. My Pokemon fanfic has some humor elements, and sometimes the character narrating the scene via limited third person or omniscient makes a dry comment, and I appreciate dry humor. But humor just isn't... something I gravitate towards naturally. And when I do, it's dry and subtle and understated.
I tried to write a funny moment into DDD where Dove tries doing laundry with her powers, they go out of control, she gets the clothes mixed up and because Dove isn't from Earth and didn't know they have to stay separate in the washer, the whites and colors get mixed, and so Beast Boy laments his clothes turning pink. The scene ends with Beast Boy teasing her and saying he'll just get revenge, and Robin says, "So everyone except Dove: Watch for trip wires." It feels SO out of place in DDD. (You know: The story where murders happen and Dove has a breakdown.) I was going for "Break the dramatic tension with humor". You know. Comic relief. I'm not sure how well it worked.
And fight scenes? I can imagine Some Things Happening, but it's always in brief snatches of moments. I can't follow the flow of a fight in my head. I mostly describe it in snapshots, because I don't enjoy fights much. I don't enjoy physical training or sports or martial arts or war stories. I even zone out during Teen Titans (My #1 Hyperfixation) episodes when they're fighting. I don't enjoy writing them and I don't enjoy content of them, so I kind of just. Can't even figure out how they work. Solution: Slap a few serviceable moments together and call it a day. It's not a skill I intend to polish beyond "just get it over with so I can get to the COOL part". Cool, subjectively, being the part AFTER the fight.
I will say that I GREATLY enjoyed both the process of writing and somewhat enjoyed the result of the DDD climax battle! Chapter 20, the largely-abstract battle between Raven and Dove in Dove's mindscape. I absolutely LOVED playing around with how an empath and a telepath would wage war when they're LITERALLY INSIDE SOMEONE'S MIND! I didn't have to coordinate hits and weapons in my head; it was all abstract, emotional, redirection stuff that DOES capture my imagination!
But how often am I ever going to write an empath and a telepath fighting in a mindscape? It's the only battle scene I've ever written that I'm actually HAPPY with. (....event-wise, anyways. Not at all happy with the rhythm/prose/style. I like What Happens in the battle, not How It's Written. But the thing about not enjoying, and thus not practicing, a thing is that I'm not going to be good at it even when I really want to be.)
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I kinda do that already! Though most of it is in a conlang... Not sure if that counts. (I don't think I've published it anywhere. But if you've ever seen the scene I posted on dA that ends in "May your spirit soar free"? I hadn't done it at the time, but I now know how that's written: Phiareh se-o a'erentha.) Names come into play for character!Zira, particularly Ciraen and Zirane, and Leyla and Dove both have "affectionate" names used to denote especially deep fondness and significance. I don't think I've ever written an entire CONVERSATION in another language though.
Oh, and I intersperse Rorek's dialog with Latin at the beginning of that story because I'm a dork for Latin and he's supposed to have been ripped from the past and is ~magically~ learning English. It's a transition.
Anyways, I think it's fine but I think people should try to find a beta who knows the language.
First fandom you wrote for?
Does "inventing a Yu-Gi-Oh! card" count as writing? Because if so, probably that. If not: Does imagining a species count as writing? Then Pokemon or Yoshi (both of Nintendo fame). As far as actually fully writing out the stories in words with the intent for them to be read as a narrative: that's 100% Teen Titans.
Favorite fic you've ever written?
What is my favorite star in the sky? My favorite leaf on a tree? Which tidal wave is the moon's favorite? By the gods, I can't pick just ONE. I love them all for the whole tapestry they weave, and my Current Favorite changes by the day. The most statistically common "Favorites" tend to be:
- Dove's Dark Discovery (because writing the mindscape scenes was SO DAMN FUN!) - The Final Journey (I'm writing about Azar and that's very important to me for private Nexus reasons, but it's also important to DOVE! And it's a classic Adventure Quest story with a twist of "she's still getting over the fact that she killed people") - Something Special About Srentha (perhaps my most coherent plot to date and headcanoning Azarathean history like CRAZY) - Growing Up Demon (Leyla's childhood scenes that don't fit elsewhere and she's very fun and very loved and it warms my heart A Lot-- some of the only time I enjoy writing slice of life, but is it really slice of life when your life is magic and demons?) - A Work of Magic is my favorite when I'm in Pokemon-hyperfixation mode or am just really appreciating warm-fuzzies and low stakes.
...
Holy fricking gods I'm tired. I read that last question as "first fic you've ever written" and. Answer under the read-more because I typed that all out and I Like The Answer, but it's not....... the answer it's asking for. {lD;;
Oh great gods, define "writing"! I was playing out stories with my PowerPuff plush figure things at like age 5. I made up characters and species for Pokemon and Yoshi when I was that age, possibly even younger! And I made up Dove at a VERY young age, considering I'm still writing about her at age 30: I must have been 10 or 11! I came up with her Core Concept veeeery shortly after getting into Teen Titans. I specifically remember playing pretend when Teen Titans was still airing; my oldest sister was playing Terra and I was playing Dove. We were playing toys with a spare Raven Bandai figure being Raven's sister named Dove (something about time travel and crossing a river in a boat made of legos?) the night Spellbound aired. That was... (checks internet) October of 2004!
And the oldest writings I have dated-- as in, writings when I actually wrote down the date I put the words on paper-- are Dove stories from 2005. But I know I was writing the stories down on paper about a year before I actually started writing the dates down. So at the VERY latest, I started "writing" fics in 2005.
I don't think I started Intentionally Writing Fanfiction, as it actually
I'm tagging: Under the singular condition that you actually want to do it! @mymixofmuses @orionsdestiny @sirenianheart @impulse-goblin
+AND: Anyone else who sees this and wants to do it! Frankly I'm not sure who else writes. @monstrousgourmandizingcats, if it can be interpreted as original fic?

Episode 47 S5: Mana Runs too Slow and it Kills 2 People
Tumblr decided to change the way it does image posts so this is going to be my hell. I can only have max 30 "blocks" of images (yikes) and uploading all your images at once and then just adding text in between is actually not possible! (least it's a nightmare on browser. I have not figured out how to drag my text in between images, so I'm just uploading every image one by one and hoping I don't forget one)
thanks, I hate it!
Peeking up at us over the horizon, our end of the world apocalypse has reached the next step of his rampage: which is to shoot glowing missiles out of it's Dragon crotch until Egypt is destroyed.
Seto is doing his best to look productive, but unfortunately this is Sad Seto, who is still buffering.
Just uh...give him a minute. He has to remember how to be Seto.
(read more under the cut)
I'm pretty sure Kissara told him straight up to call her whenever, and considering how few words they've ever said to each other, you'd think he'd remember the words she said like half an hour ago. Then again, he was kind of...sleeping when that happened. Or hallucinating, or dreaming, or all three.
Bakura and Yami are watching this pan out from the Shadow Game Zone, Bakura kind of nodding slowly while Yami becomes overwhelmed with embarrassment over how much everyone around him is screwing it. This is not meant to be funny, but it was very funny to me.
I have brought this up before, but Bakura does bring up a good point, that this entire arc was kind of against the grain of who Yami became over the course of the last 4 seasons.
+++++STAND BACK I'M GONNA RANT, FEEL FREE TO SKIP++++
Don't get me wrong, Yami LOVES to make bad choices that end the world. But why would he continue to go back here and destroy the world of the future he knows and loves so much? Especially since it already went SO south with Dartz the last time he opened pandora's box?
He has a new identity now, he has so many friends, last arc was just so many women throwing themselves at Yugi. His life is really good! I think they could have developed more of a line of logic between last arc and this arc, but like with a lot of things in this arc, it was rushed.
So him giving up his newfound modern identity that he made all himself through hard work and friendship first off feels kinda bad. Like I'm OK with him being a new guy, he worked hard for that! Lets not go backward now.
And then him coming here to regain his old identity is sort of like the show knew what it must do, but the characters were like "nah." and then went and did it anyway seemingly at gunpoint.
And I kind of wish there was any contrast between who Yami's new identity is in the future and who Yami was in the past. It would be fascinating to dive into the fact he's now two people yet again, even though Yugi is no longer in that bean. but eh save it for the fanfiction, because they needed to end Yugioh in a certain number of episodes.
And that happens sometimes. Stories are character driven, and when you try and drive the characters, they become less like people and more like iconic symbols. Here's our hero. He must do this because he's the hero. That's it, that's the reason. Welcome to Shonen Jump.
+++++++END RANT AKA THIS ARC HAS COOL IDEAS AND I WISH IT HAD ENOUGH TIME TO DO THEM BETTER++++++++
Problem is, Yami isn't that meta. He's dumb though, so in a way it does make a little sense why he had to open the box. He dummy thin.
Dummy thin and still can't read.
And like in case you've jumped in here after my accidental hiatus (hello!) and not realized this, I had to binge watch the rest of the season before we cancelled our Hulu subscription. There was the option of watching it for free on the Yugioh website, but I didn't want to change my Photoshop actions.
So get ready for me to talk about how the ending of this show bothered me, for like 8 episodes. I'll try to keep it in, so we can get there when we get there.
But you can't say lines like "We were meant to be together." in the context of this arc, you can't DO that, show.
Apparently the creator of Yugioh got hospitalized while he wrote this arc, hence the dick king demon. But also it got....messy. We have like 3 seasons of development in like 8 episodes, buckle up. They did the best that they could do with the resource's given, and we'll even get to meet my favorite character a few times before it's over (the Storyboarding God that occasionally guest stars on Yugioh, love that guy)
Back on the playing field, Yami is running out of options, when Isis informs us we can just go to McDonald's and get more McGuffins.
Out of basically no where, Mana zips onto the screen because she's ready to have at least one girl's night before the end of the world. The contrasting energy from both Mana and Isis is peak goth babysitter vs the parrot that hides behind the couch and bites your feet.
Back near Pharaoh's tomb, Yugi is still dueling over a deathpit with the child who these kids think is Ryou bakura.
This is not however, Ryou Bakura. It's sideways adjacent evil Bakura.
And it didn't really matter that this plot point ever happened because it's not like Yugi, Joey, or Tea ever catch on that this isn't Ryou anyway. But at least I, the audience can feel a little bit better about the weird twist by the dub there.
Ryou is still passed out on some stone steps. He's fine.
You might be wondering "Oh so what asinine thing is Isis going to have to do to get the items back?" and uh, you're wrong actually.
Turns out we could have just picked up the items in the desert at any time but I guess we forgot. I'll blame it on Shadi.
Joey Wheeler, who can punch out probably anything but a ghost, chooses to hide behind Tea because he knows she can punch a ghost and I believe it, too.
Back on the surface, is a scene that would have been emotional if it hadn't been 3 minutes. it was NOT enough time to give a proper send off to our girl Isis here, and they tried, but if you imagine the Yakety Sax song playing under this death here, that's about the speed at which this girl biffed it.
speaking of Yakety Sax theme, this is what was happening while Mana was crying her eyes out.,
And you may ask, was it really that goofy? and yes, yes it was.
and like I get it, animation and pacing are really, really hard. Parts of me wonder if maybe on paper this seemed OK. If maybe even as a storyboard this seemed OK. But something you learn quickly when doing any sort of narrative art, is that you need like 2x as much space as you think you do. Pause is an underrated godlike skill that takes a lifetime to master.
However, it still had good stills going on, it still had some lovely direction just...I mean they dropped Isis from top to bottom of that frame so freakin fast it was like she was a dropped banana hahaha.
They still have to carry these items physically to the Pharaoh, and so becuase Mana is a slow runner, 2 people freakin died this episode distracting Zorc. Which is also the title of this episode because I want to send home howfreakin funny that is to me.
Ah, back to Episode 1.
So how breathtaking and epic is the Kaiju fight you ask? Well good thing for you, I capped it.
The look on Seto and Yami's faces about sum it up.
And as quickly as he showed up to do a few silly punches, the great Exodia was cut exactly in half. Don't ask me how the card logic works for that, I have forgotten how this game works already.
Mana finally makes it to Yami, cursed puzzle in hand, and that ends this episode.
Can you imagine adding 7 characters to a story knowing you have to kill all of them individually before the anime arc is over? Breakneck deaths going on here.
Sorry for all you people that were so deeply attached to Shimon, the guy who isn't even Grandpa, by the way. A moment of silence for all 4 of you.
And we get back this thing. This horrible thing made out of thousands of dead people's souls. The thing that trapped him for 5000 years and launched him into the future. The only thing that can save mankind.
(If I have used this Mokuba joke like this before forgive me it was like a different lifetime before I caught covid, and I will not be able to regain those memories because I cannot curse myself with a rude ass puzzle.)
The abusive relationship with the Millennium Puzzle is a whole anime college essay I would write if I had half a brain, but alas I have the immune system and fatigue of a sickly gerbil or a goldfish that feels a little bit chilly. So I will not be writing that in depth episode but like...
Think about how far we've come with this jackass puzzle. And yet, I'm supposed to forgive it? Nah I don't think I have yet. Go to hell, puzzle.
This puzzle can go straight to hell.
Anyway, if you just got here you can read these recaps in chrono order at the link here:

PS I had to do so much assholery to get that to go to my chrono link and not my main link. They would just. Change my link. They would just change my link every time I pasted it. Tumblr you have GOT to give me my old post editor back omg.

More crackfic
Posted the first part of my little crackfic series the other day. Figured why not just keep going.
If you like this, please go over to AO3 and smash that Kudos button for me. If you are a guest user, I would appreciate just a little 'Kudos left' or something along those lines in the comments so I don't suspect a Kudosbot attack if I get a bunch of guest hits.
Title: Talking with Myself....Again https://archiveofourown.org/works/42737205
Summary: This is the result of my caffeine to blood ratio being out of balance. Why is there so much blood in my caffeine system?!
[Yami Bakura casually approaches Author’s desk, his latest ‘edits’ in hand]
Y.Bakura: Uh…Author? Are you okay?
[Author’s head is laying sideways on the keyboard, her eyes appear as empty sockets, and there is drool coming from the corner of her mouth]
Author: * unintelligible zombie moan *
[Yami Bakura appears unphased, starts looking around for the other characters involved in Author’s longfic]
Y.Bakura: Okay! Which one of you rejects fried her brains this time?! I know for a fact it wasn’t me!
[Yugi peeks his head out from some random location]
Yugi: Yeah, sorry. That was me. Apparently I’m too ‘positive’ of a character…whatever that means…
[Yami Bakura stifles a yawn]
Y.Bakura: It means you’re boring.
Yugi: I am not!
Y.Bakura: Oh really?
[Yami Bakura gestures around to all the other characters]
Y.Bakura: Pretend you’re meeting everyone here for the first time. What would you do?
[Yugi looks around and smiles]
Yugi: I walk up to each of them and ask them if they want to be friends!
[Yami Bakura is not amused]
Y.Bakura: Wrong. You walk up to each of them with a friendly smile like you want to be their friend, then when they least expect it, impale them with sharp, pointy knives!
[Yami Bakura is now amused]
[Yugi, however, is appalled]
Yugi: What is wrong with you?!
[Yami Bakura laughs maniacally]
Y.Bakura: Everything! That’s what makes me the best! That’s why I’m the Author’s favorite!
Atem: Right…her ‘favorite’. That’s why there’s Hateshipping in the current longfic plot…
[Atem has entered chat. Atem is not amused]
[Yami Bakura glares imaginary daggers at Atem]
Y.Bakura: I’ve made edits to the plot. You’re welcome.
[Yami Bakura holds up a piece of paper with ‘Plot Idiots’ written across the top in red crayon]
Atem: You spelled ‘Edits’ wrong…
[Yami Bakura glances at the paper]
Y.Bakura: Nope. This plot is full of idiots. I’m trying to be helpful and label things properly for the Author.
[Atem jerks paper away from Yami Bakura]
Atem: Why is most of this crossed out and replaced with ‘Murder the Pharaoh’ and ‘Murder everyone’?
[Yami Bakura sighs boredly]
Y.Bakura: You wouldn’t understand. Your tiny brain can’t comprehend something as complex as the art of killing people.
[Yugi walks by with a freshly brewed cup of coffee and sets it beside the Author]
[Author Zombie slowly moves a hand away from the keyboard, groaning as she takes the coffee and slowly lifts the remainder of her corpse from the keyboard as well]
[Yugi smiles]
Yugi: Look! I fixed the Author! Someone forgot to refill her mug.
[Author sips at caffeinated beverage. She is no longer a Zombie. Her eyes have returned to staring intensely at the monitor]
Author: Alrighty, where was I?
[Author stares at monitor a bit more, then slowly turns and glares as Yugi]
Author: Why are you being so difficult to write? Is this because there’s no Puzzleshipping in my longfic? Is this punishment for not writing any Puzzleshipping fics at all? I have one in my WIPs. I’ll get to it when I get to it…stop rushing me!
[Yugi nervously tries to hide behind Atem]
Yugi: * in a near whisper * I forgot how mean Author gets when she’s stuck on a chapter.
Atem: Don’t worry. I think she’ll forget about that in three…two…
[Yami Bakura pushes his paper of ‘edits’ in Author’s face]
[Author turns into a fire-breathing dragon and turns Yami Bakura into a pile of charcoal, then returns to her normal self and goes back to staring at her monitor, sipping away at the dark life-sustenance in her mug]
